| Abstract |
To test onboard radio altimeters, which use complex types of probing signal modulation, the reflected signal simulator in some cases should adjust some echo formation parameters in real time. The proposed simulator makes it possible to conduct an end-to-end test of an operation of radar altimeters, including microwave parts, signal processing algorithms of measuring aircraft altitude above simulated underlying surface (with example of a point reflector). Experimental study of the simulator showed that the simulator can convert a probing signal copy into a signal with variable delay, attenuation and Doppler frequency shift with automatic adaptation to the slope of a linear frequency modulation and to the signal amplitude by using only probing altimeter signal. |
